ISO 14001

A one-day highly interactive introductory course to enable delegates understand environmental management systems (EMS) and to prepare for the documentation and implementation of an EMS to meet the new ISO 14001 standards. Each delegate will receive a comprehensive course manual, including templates for use in their respective organisations. This course will review in detail and thus assist delegates respond to the key requirements of the standard and will include:

  • Links to ISO9001, OHSAS 18001

  • ISO 14001

    • General Requirements.

    • Policy.

    • Planning.

    • Implementation & operation.

    • Checking.

    • Management Review.

Outcomes:

At the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Apply the ISO 14001 standard and build on other systems such as ISO 9001.

  • Understand links to other models such as IIP, and the EFQM Excellence Model.

  • Understand EMS including EMAS systems.

  • Define an Environmental policy.

  • Identify documentation, legal requirements and records.

  • Review existing environmental aspects and impacts.

  • Establish objectives including performance criteria.

  • Implement and maintain the EMS system.

  • Describe the role of third party certification providers.
