OHSAS 18001

Following a period of consultation ISO rejected a common standard for health & Safety Management. Based on BS 8800:1996 Guide to Health & Safety Management Systems, a new Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems Specification OHSAS 18001:1999 was produced. This specification is now being widely used by certification bodies to assess the effectiveness of organisations' health & safety systems.
