consultation ISO rejected a common standard for health & Safety Management.
Based on BS 8800:1996 Guide to Health & Safety Management Systems, a new
Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems Specification OHSAS
18001:1999 was produced. This specification is now being widely used by
certification bodies to assess the effectiveness of organisations' health &
safety systems.
