Up Course Outline Support

A one-day highly interactive course to enable delegates experienced in safety and/or quality and/or environmental management systems to define and implement an Occupational Health & Safety Management System in their respective organisations. Each delegate will receive a comprehensive course manual. This course will review in detail and thus assist delegates respond to the key requirements of the specification and will include:

  • Safety Systems

  • Links to ISO9001, 14001

  • OHSAS 18001

    • Policy

    • Planning

    • Implementation & operation.

    • Checking & Corrective Action.

    • Management Review

  • Integrated Systems

  • Certification

Outcomes:

At the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Apply the OHSAS 18001 system specification and build on other systems such as ISO 9001, 14001 and understand links to other models such as IIP, and the EFQM Excellence Model.

  • Understand safety systems including HSE's HS(G)65 model.

  • Define an Occupational Health & Safety (OHAS) policy.

  • Identify documentation, legal requirements and records.

  • Review existing hazards and risk controls.

  • Establish objectives including performance criteria.

  • Implement and maintain the OHAS system.

  • Describe the role of third party certification providers.
